Can I simply say how thoroughly p****ed off I am that Sharon will apparently die peacefully of natural causes, instead of writhing in abject misery and agony. :bang:

JEremy,
While I don't think I share your sentiment, I do think that the man is FAR from the saint he's being protrayed as currently. He took every opportunity to dismantle the incredible progress toward peace which preceeded his usurption of power and leave behind him a battlefield and breeding ground for even deeper resentments than have been felt before by the Palestinians, if that could ever be possible. The first time I remember hearing about Sharon was when he had purposely taken a delegation to a combined Jewish/Moslem holy site on a Moslem holy day and commandeered the location to prevent Moslem worship. I knew then that he was hell-bent on poking sticks at the beehive until he got enough of them stinging to justify burning the whole thing down. I don't wish him a painful death but I do expect that he'll be writhing in Hell, with other famous world leaders like the tenacious Pol Pot and that cuddely Joseph Stalin. Calculated murder is evil, no matter what religious authority you wrap yourself in.

Jeremy, I understand your sentiments completely. Someone I know was jumping for joy that the bastard would die, but then I told him that dying was too damn easy for Sharon. He shouldn't have a peaceful way of leaving this planet, not with his record.

As a fresh faced Lieutenant in the Army Sharon was interviewed by the Jerusalem Post and stated that it was his mission in life to exterminate every Palestinian he encountered.
This level headed approach to the Middle East's problems clearly stayed with him as he later permitted the Phalange militias that were under his personal direct control in Beirut to butcher thousands of men women and children in the Sabra and Chatilla camps.
Dissatisfied with this he then personally reignited the Intifada by entering the Al Aqsa Mosque during Prayers and violated by disrespect one of Islams Holiest Places, and coincidentally barging into East Jerusalem which at the time Arafat had declared the capital of Palestine.
Yeah, he is a real prince.
