Last July I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic.
Having faced my GP's lecture of 54 things that I must no longer do, and adding one of my own (no longer visit my GP), I set about changing my life-style.
I dropped 12 Kgs and plan on losing 6 more, though they are proving a bastard to get started, binned all starches, now bake my own wholemeal bread, walk 10 Kilometers a day etc etc.
Anyway last night I did a random blood sugar test and the reading was 5.9 mmol, and that my friends is the upper range of normal. No meds, no panaceas, just plain hard work and I did it :D

Good on you, Jeremy. :)

Do git rid of some more of them kilos, though. Them somebitches are even worse than pounds, I'm told. :D

Good for you Jeremy. I was told that I'm pre-diabetic and since this disease runs in my family, I'm paying attention to the first warning. You walk 10 kilometers A DAY???? :wtf: Wow.

Jeremy

Glad you are getting the jump on this. I need to start some sort of an exercise program as well.

Start walking miles, though. You'll cover more distance than those silly metric distances. :D

Good job Jeremy

My GP put me on blood pressure meds just before the holidays and asked me to loose 10 lbs, to then discuss getting off the meds.

I am going for broke and shooting for 30 lbs. When I hit that mark I will be in the shape that I was in when I joined the USMC back in 93'.

Good luck

Way to go, Jeremy. I'm long overdue. Got this protrusion behind my navel that won't go away. :)

The 10 K is easy. I have 14 4 legged excellent reasons to go for regular walks. Plus taking one or two of them each time helps me ignore the distance.

Now where is the grizzly bear is was supposed to .................? :D

You might not need to loose any weight at all if you quit lugging them stones around all the time :tup2:

1 Stone = 14lbs. So I weigh in at 308lbs. Thats just too much.

IF and it is a most unlikely if, I ever let all 14 out together it will not be to herd them but lag far behind a stampede and tend to the various savaged cats and palpitating spinsters left in their wake:D

Any excuse to avoid posting a picture of yourself. If no yappers how bout one of you and your lovesick camel drooling on your shoulder? :shades:
