I NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP. I JUST FINISHED MY FIRST COMPLETE BATHROOM RENOVATION. ALL THE TILING I DID ON THE FLOORS WALLS AND COUNTER TURNED OUT EXCELLENT. HOWEVER I HAD A ODSIZED SHOWER ENCLOSURE SO I ENDED UP MUDDING IN MY OWN SHOWER PAN. THE SHOWER PAN IS A BIT UNEVEN EVEN THOUGH I MAD SURE TO USE A 2X4 FLOATER TO PREVENT THAT. ANYWAYS I HAVE 1X1 TILES WITH THE STANDARD GROUT LINE SIZE (POSSIBLE 3/16 I GOT THE 12X12 SHEETS). ANYWAYS IVE GROUTED THIS THING TWICE AND BOTH TIMES AFTER A COUPLE USES OF THE SHOWER THE ADHESIVE SEEMS TO SEEP BACK THRU THE GROUT EVEN THOUGH I MADE SURE THE GROUT WAS PERFECT AND I SOAKED IT WITH THE SPRAY SEALANT. COULD IT BE THAT ITS TOO UNEVEN? IF NOT COULD IT BE THE TYPE OF ADHESEVE, I USED MAPAE TYPE 1. IT WAS RECOMENDED TO ME BUT AFTER READING SOME OF THE THREADS WELL..... AND I USED THE UNSANDED GROUT. IM PRETTY SURE ITS NOT CURING TIME, THE ADHESIVE I LET SET FOR A WEEK, THE GROUT 4 DAYS AND THE SEALER 2 DAYS. I JUST NEED SOME HELP. IM THINKING I NEED TO USE A DIFFERENT TYPE OF TILE TOO, MAYBE A THICKER TILE SO THAT THERE IS MORE GROUT INVOLVED. WILL THAT MAKE IT MORE DURABLE? SHOULD I USE DIFFERNT ADHESIVE WITH AN EPOXY GROUT?? I DON'T KNOW IM GRASPING AT STRAWS SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!! :bang:

You need to to use thinset not mastic adhesive.

Sounds Good Figured As Much. Question Is, Is That The Full Answer To The Problem? Go With The Same Tile, Grout, And Sealer Etc Ive Used The Last Two Times I Jacked It Up? And Just Change The Adhesive? Im Going To Break Out All The 1 Inch Tile And Scrape Up The Mapae Stuff, Should I Lay Down A Layer Of Adhesive To Level Off My Imperfect Mudd Job? Im Bound And Determined To Make The Third Time The Charm!!

Yes you could use some thinset to level off the uneven mud job.
Is the mastic residue on the mud bed going to interfere with the bond of the thinset is what I am wondering? You should be able to scrape the mud bed clean and then use thinset to smooth out the mud bed. Let the thinset dry and then check the it again prior to setting your floor tile.

Jon, as a sidenote, all caps in a message on the internet or email is considered yelling. Take off the caps lock and yer message will seem a bit calmer. Thanks. :)
