Hello,
we are currently remodelling our bathroom and adding a tiled walk-in shower. I have heard of water-proof grout, but can't find anything like this in our area (B.C. west Canada). Does anyone have any tips on grouting it the right way, for minimal maintenance?
Thanks a bunch!
Jackie

No such thing, unless you plan on Epoxy grout.:)

Just use a good modified cementbased grout and seal it a week later, you'll be fine.:)

Thanks for your answer,
I found this information on this website

(scroll down to the title: "Some Good News About Grout")

How come it doesn't exist here? Or is it epoxy grout?

Thanks again, just trying to inform myself! We all want to simplify our lives don't we!!!

Hard to tell what he is talking about.
Epoxy grout is available. It is way more expensive and around here there is a mixture of feeling about its use. Some find it very hard to use. Some have also reported that if exposed to sunlite it will fade.

Why wouldn't I prefer epoxy grout over i.e. Mapei Keracolor S "Mist" grout for a bath/shower surround. Even if the price is higher the non having to seal ever part and the easier cleaning is very appealing.

What is your opinion?

Thanks a lot for all your comments, they are greatly appreciated!
