Newbies Quandry:

So, after weeks of deliberation by my better half, it turns out that the grout color still wasn't quite right. "It needs to be a shade darker."

Is there a sealer that will also darken things just a bit? The color of the grout exactly matches the pillow edge giving the appearance of a 1/2" wide grout line instead of a
1/8" on 18 x18 tiles. Oh ya, 2000 feet of floor, porcelain, just completed.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg

I think somebody makes a staining sealer.

Does your handle represent Salida Colorado?

Don,

Salida, Colorado it is.
Been here 6 years and love it.
Small, quiet, and friendly.
Ain't going back. No way. Nope. Never.

An enhancing sealer might darken it a little, but also might turn out splotchy, you'd have to experiment. There's always grout stain...made by Aquamix.

Greg,

We were considering the purchase of a Salida liquor store in 1984. Nice old 2-story building with a lot of history in the middle of downtown. Seems like it was on the NE corner. Yeah, nice town, beautiful area but the "blue sky" in the deal was a bit too steep for good business.

I did a grout job last week that turned out way to light in color. Fortunately, my wife liked it better that the color she originally picked.

Hi Greg :)

I would not depend on a color enhancer for the grout. Either a grout colorant or grout stain would be my choice. I have only used grout colorants by Aqua Mix (with great success). Usually tile stores that sell grout have the same color available in a grout colorant.
