Hello,

New to this forum, read almost all threads, good stuff! My question = I have a slate shower that I installed five years ago and did not maintain. As a result, I have a leak due either to grout erosion or slate erosion, or both. I am using a product line of cleaner, sealer called HMK. I have already cleaned with HMK R60 (hardwater/mildew), then R55 (grout/whatever), and sealed with S34 (sealer/silicone impregnator). I was about to regrout and then reseal until I read several threads concerning using sealers that allow water to "evaporate".

HMK's marketing materials says that there product is good for showers. Does anyone have any experience with this product? Is it good to go?

Here is HMK's Website = http://www.hmkstonecare.com

Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi MR, Welcome! :)

The HMK products you are using are excellent products. They are all suitable for your project. The S34 allows vapor transmission.

Make sure you pick up some stone & tile specific neutral pH cleaner for ongoing maintenance.

Thanks John,

The R55 is rated ph 8.5, so that's it!
