Ok well the title says most of it.
I have recently done a backsplash for some folks
who want me to enhance their 2200 ft of 24" slate.
I did a sample on 3 tiles in an area that is uncospicous.
I put 3 coats af Miracle sealants enhance & seal on
the tiles and im wondering if this particular product would
hold up over time. Ive been told enhancers will need to be
done on a yearly basis or more often if foot traffic is heavy.
Also the floor is grouted of course so i would have to seal
each tile invidually as ive never had good luck with enhancer
on grout. Can i use a regular sealer to seal the grout first
to avoid any funky discoloring in the grout , and last question
does anyone reccomend a different kind of sealer altoghter to
get the wet look on slate?

Hi Jack :)

If your clients like the glossy wet look, I like using Sparks Stone Glamor. You're right about the grout enhancing part. It sounds like it's already grouted.

How many coats are needed to get the needed wet look, and also
will it effect the grout, yes it is grouted?. Do you use a pump spray,
roller or sponge by hand? Thank you for helping :)

Hi Jack :)

One coat will get it off to a great start. Two may be needed to finish it off. This particular product has a minimal effect on the grout.

I usually brush it on. I'm sure a low pressure sprayer may work with the large area you have. I'd consider using a lambs wool applicator with the sprayer just to even out the finish.

You'll need plenty of ventilation and a respirator. The stuff is nasty.
