Help. We hired granite installers who were very sloppy. They've installed granites onto our kitchen and vanity counters and showers and left glue everywhere as well as the silicone sealant. The glue have hardened and we are unable to scrape it off with the razor. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to remove this glue without harming the granite? After cleaning the glue off, we have to apply the sealer. Thank you !!

What kind of glue m5? Brand? And what did they use it for? By any chance was this a light colored mastic (comes in a bucket) used to set the tiles? Sorry for all the question but I'm just trying to narrow the playing field some for the restoration folks when they get in here to look at this thread.
Welcome by the way. How about a first name? ;)

Hi Eam, Welcome! :)
Didn't catch your first name in your post. :shades:
It sounds like the epoxy that was used in the seams. A razor blade should do it. You could try to soften it with some acetone. I would also use a razor blade to remove the dried silicone.
I have heard some hardware stores carry a product to remove dried silicone. I haven't seen it yet myself though. Prosoco makes a product called Dicone NC-9 liquid or NC-15 gel. I know those work on dried silicone.

If your "installers" used a polyester adhesive, you might try to soften it somewhat with a heat gun before trying to scrape it off with a razor blade.
I would phone the install company to come back and fix their mess before making a final payment, though. That job sounds just plain nasty
