I am amazed at how all of the churches and citizens in Arlington have pulled together to help the survivors. The donations are pooring in from everywhere and people are standing in line at the churches housing the survivors to sign-up to volunteer. My husband put fliers out in our neighborhood saying he was going to come to houses with his 18 foot trailer and take anything people wanted to donate. From two streets and three cul-de-sacs he made two trailer trips.
The mall here invited all children and mother survivers to free ice skating, food and movies.
It is also interesting to note that none of the Catholic churches in Arlington are hosting families. We as members are volunteering at other churches. I wonder if that stems from all of the recent lawsuits? It is wonderful to see so many people giving of themselves. I have forgotten there are so many good people in our world.
