Communications are a mess over there right now. I don't think anyone has phone service. Even some of the cells are out.

Dan, we are all ok. Logged in from a remote location. Left Baton Rouge Wed afternoon. Finally got the power back on, but no cable for internet, and we have been otherwise occupied anyway. We got hardly any water in BR, but severe wind damage throughout the city. A tremendous # of evacuees from New Orleans arrived in BR, and there is nowhere to put them. They are just wandering around, lots of looting there, break-ins and other atrocities as well. Going back tonight. Gas, when you can find it is 3.00 for regular, lots of ill feelings at the gas stations. Bread is scarce, ice is practically non-existent. Hopefully, the authorities have addressed the problems of the criminals. Will know more tomorrow. Thanks for wondering.

Came up to NatchitochesLa to be with my daughter and give the city time to either settle down or get worse. Thanks.

We've got refugees camped out all over Houston, too. Most of the folks are peaceful. There is always the criminal element no matter where you go. I understand that we are shipping some of the people on to San Antoinio, Austin, and Dallas. Buses are coming in from Lousiana day and night.
