I want to put laminate flooring accross a transition from slab foundation to plywood. the plywood sub floor drops off and is uneven up to 5/8 below slab at worst area. The wood area is the end of the hallway with 4 interior doors to various rooms, closet, stairs. How should I level this area to the slab? Please help. Thanks in advance. Joe

Is this a nail down or floating floor?

I'm no FlatFloor, but seems to me a little floor patch (or maybe ALOT) is in order here. It may not be kosher, so consult manufaturer specs, but I used patch in a transition such as you describe that was 3/8" off with gluedown prefinished hardwood. It's held up two years so far. (the concrete was proud of the OSB surface).

Again, I did not consult specs, so I may be leading you down an improper path; somebody jump in and confirm or flame this....
