Whitewash Indoor Brick Fireplace?

Hello. My wife would like to whitewash our red brick fireplace. She would like some of the red to bleed through to give it an antique/traditional look.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Can you give us a first name so's we can keep track of ya?Well,whenever i want to add some color to saltillo, i mix a rather thin paint and dab it on with a rag,but i'm not sure about rough porous brick..maybe you can use a couple different techniques on a couple random bricks...maybe a thinned paint and short nap roller, and then the rag idea...maybe someone else has a better idea. :bow: :)
