We have our Silver Pearl granite countertops for over a month now and somehow managed to put a scratch (about 1.5") on it. Like a fool, I tried sanding it with sandpaper and made it worse (dulled the finish) :bang: I plan to call our fabricator to see if they can repair it but wanted to hear from the experts whether this damage can be salvaged. Thanks in advance.

Hi yogini, Welcome! :)

Can you do us a favor, and share your first name with us? :shades:

Your fabricator is your best resource. Hopefully, he's familiar with top polishing. If not, get back to us.

It shouldn't be too difficult to polish out, but it does take some practise. Make sure your fabricator knows how to do a good top polish before having him attempt to fix it.

Did you use some of that very fine black wet/dry sandpaper?

John - thank you for the warm welcome, my name is Sherry.

Adriana - I was so impulsive I didn't even try using any extra fine sandpaper, I guess I was hoping the scratch would magically disappear. :uhh:
