Hi all,

I just finished redoing my shower and due to some unexpected visitors we had to use the shower before I got the grout sealed. The grout is a beige and when wet it is turning brown. Here's the problem. My wife has long hair and when she washes it she tends to slop soap all over the place. By this I mean that glops of shampoo that are still thick from the bottle get all over the place. Yes, I know that she should rinse it off better, but I'm not starting a fight over that. :)

The problem is that there are several spots on the grout where the soap has sat and soaked in, darkening the grout to the darker brown color so that even when the shower is completely dry, these dark spots are still there. Is there anything I can use to lift the soap out of the grout so I can get some sealer down?

Thanks,
Chuck

Hi Chuck, we have Stone Tech cleaners along with sealers in the TYW online store. If you have tile, use the Restore to cut the soap. Use Klenzall for stone. You will need to let it dry out well before sealing. :)

Hi Chuck :)

Not to confuse things, but the KlenzAll will cut the soap better.

Yes, I saw both before posting. What I was unsure of was that Restore was an acidic product that would require me to remove the shower enclosure and I wasn't really sure if I needed to go that far. However, KlenzAll doesn't say anything about soap, only grease and soil. If you say that KlenzAll will do it, I'll whip out my credit card and buy it, no more questions. It's the least I can do considering all that I've learned from this place. :)

Question about drying out before sealing if could bother you one more time. It's a Kerdi shower and the grout lines appear dry within a couple of hours as it is but I have no idea how long it stays wet under the tile. Would letting a fan blow on it all night be enough or should I give it longer?

Thanks a lot,
Chuck
