Hello - am I kinda new to this - so I hope this works ok! I have red rust stains on my slate floor (which is dark grey) from water leaking out from my fridge.
I am scared to use anything like "CLR" as I am worried it will damage the slate.
Any suggestions appreicated.

Thanks xxx

Are you sure it's rust, and do you have a sealer on the floor?Slate is pretty dense, and won't suck things into it much,,that's good news.Try some baking soda, and water and a little scrub pad first. :)

Hi Nessy, Welcome! :)

Can you post a picture?

What was the slate originally sealed with?

How do you currently maintain the floor?

Thanks for your replys - alas! I am unable to get a picture. I am not sure what it orginally was sealed with - but it has been sealed. The "maintenance" it gets is generally a vac & mop! I think it may be an sealed with acrylic.

I think I think I will try the bicarb first. . .wish me luck!
