After a nightmare of a time with demo- the shower is done.

White subway tile, white grout. White hex and grey grout on the floor.

We are NOT squeegie people. So that's not going to happen.

We had a little bit of soap scum and the grout wasn't moldy but on the edge...so it was time to clean.

I used very diluted Aqua Mix Grout Cleaner and the grout immediately turned yellow. I had to scrub to get it out. What's the deal? I just can't imagine that the neutral ph stuff is going to get the mildew/mold.

Any suggestions?

Well. an acidic cleaner when it hits dirty grout sometimes does turn yellow, and if scrubbing it got the grout clean then the cleaner was doing it's job, i imagine. The neutral cleaners are mainly for regular use, to prevent build up, and to be used on stones, and softer tiles, sometimes you have to bring out the stronger cleaners for grout. :)

For the long term, Jerry, you might wanna look into StoneTech's Revitalizer Stone & Tile Cleaner and Protector. Manufacturer says it leaves a slight protective seal and it contains an antimicrobial agent to inhibit the growth of them floras and faunas. It's a neutral cleaner for everyday use, smells nice, and you ain't gotta rinse it off.

My opinion; worth price charged.
