I applied 2 coats of 511 Sealer and Enhancer to my slate before I grouted. It does a nice job of enhancing the color, but I would like to have a shinnier finish on the slate (i.e. the wet look). Is it possible to apply a different product to achieve this finish? I'm hoping for a product that I can apply over the 511 sealer and not have to remove it.
I'm not sure if it matters, but my slate is a Chinese slate called summer buff.

Hi Carley :)
The only product I know that may stick is a topical coating by Prosoco. It's called Gloss n Guard. I've used it over other impregnating sealers with great success.

Hi Carley
Is the 511 sealer specifically described as a color enhancer? Some of the "slates" are so porous that even a regular impregnating sealer makes them appear darker. You might want to look for an enhancer before you start thinking about putting a topical sealer (a coating) on a floor. (I am assuming that the tiles are on a floor?)
You might also need to do more than a few applications because the stone is so thirsty. Just be sure to wait a good 24 hours between applications for maximum efficiency.

Miracle Sealants technical department says its "Mira Shine" will put a sheen a slate floors. On a recent job, we used a sealer/colour enhancer, which was enough shine for the customer. (Be sure to clean the floor several times before sealing it.)
However, for polished slate, we haven't been able to come up with any product to get a higher shine. Miracle says Mira Shine will peel off polished slate.
