I had posted a question sometime back regarding painting my very stained cinder block wall. I was advised to scrub it with Chlorine and then paint with masonary water proof paint.
I have done that as the attached pictures will show. My question now is, considering the cost of this water resistant paint, HD's DRYLOCK latex masonary paint, could I get by just painting the grout areas with a wide margin and paint the rest of the wall with matching regular masonary paint. I'm looking at perhaps 250 linear feet of 8-ft block wall.
I'm asking this as in my view it looks like the water is only coming through the grout and not the actual block.
I was also advised to redirect any water flowing directly on to it. I have done that as well.
Thanks guys (and gals)
Roger
