Anyone know why us in Mass celebrate today,Patriots Day....Just looking to see if anyone knows... :yipee:

Has to do with the first battle or lives lost in the Revolutionary War, I believe.

Twas on this day (or more likely in the wee morning hours of April 19) that the "shot heard 'round the world" was fired at Lexington -- an hour or so later shots were fired a little further along the road at Concord. Even though poorly trained and inadequately armed, the American "patriots" outnumbered the Brits and sent them packing back down the road to Boston, sniping at them and generally dessimatiing their ranks as they retreated.
That's why you celebrate April 18. You only missed it by a day. Close enough. :)

:bow: No surprise,John everyone I know in Texas is so smart lol..........Like down there, there is a lot of history up here,I camp right near the Mayflower...do you know what that is ....lol
