First off I gotta say this is the best forum I have ever seen, Hats off to all you moderators as well as the other mechanics who take the time to answer questions and give advice.

Well I have a small guest bath that has granit 12x12 black (GALAXY) polished I quess (it really shines) with black spectralock grout 1/8 joint, The tile store sold me a sealler (511 penetrator) when I bought the tile . I havnt put any on yet, its been about 4 weeks now . Should I seal this floor and vanity top? doesnt seem like this type of stone would even take it.

Thanks
Colt

You are correct, Black Galaxy is a non porous stone and does not need to be seales. However, your grout will need to be sealed if it is in the shower.

good ol' 511 impregnator, yeah use it to seal the grout and wipe it off the tile just after it hazes! and 4 weeks is good for the waite so the cement based products can Cure.

Hi there,

Spectralock probably won't take the impregnating sealer either.

If you use it (511) be sure to wipe up any dampness before it dries.

sorry ive never used spectraloc, but I was told that you really dont have to be that fussy with the impregnator because it hazes then wipes right off with a nice buffing towel.
