Patti and I had dinner last evening with Mark L., Director of Marketing for Custom Building Products, makers of Versa Bond and Flex Bond thin sets and other very wonderful products (nearly all the tile stuff that's sold at Home Depot). :)

It was an enjoyable evening, and we settled a variety of problems that affect our industry. I did have a hard time getting Mark to smile, though.

;)

It was very enjoyable for me. I know most of you know this already, but John and Patti are a wonderful couple. Great food as well.

Next time, I'll try to smile. :)

Hi Mark :)

Yes I have dealt with Jim frequently (for years). Pretty much my mentor for Prosoco, answered occassional questions with Customs, and introduced me to Pro Slope with Noble. Jeff has been a great substitute when Jim isn't available. Their mom is always as sweet as can be, acting as their communications expert! :D

Hey John, what does Prosoco stand for? One of the distributors we have up here is called Prosol........stands for Proffesional Solutions.....Made me think Prosoco means Proffesional Solutions Company.........am I right? :)

Mark, you are a brave man. John is barred from most restaurants in Houston. :)

Looks like a bunch of sucking up going on there John. :D " Lets see web site gets x amount of hits per month, great place to promote our products and John slowly slips into retirement, with a huge cashflow". :D :D That about sums it up.. :)

Great Mexican food? That's an oxymoron if ever there was one. :D

Glad y'all got the whole industry straightened out in one visit. Hell, I woulda bet money it'd take two or three at least. Que Hombres! :)

Retirement? Never. I'm a mud man, remember? :D

I gotta come clean with you guys. Mark, being the high-level "shirt" that he is, picked up the tab. I therefore drank Corona. (Besides that, they don't carry Miller High Life at the cantina.) :D

Randy,if you only knew how little cash actually flowed here you'd feel guilty and send in a donation for the free education ;)

Hi Randy :)

This is what Prosoco stands for:

http://www.prosoco.com/

If you take time to investigate the site, you'll see there are a lot of chemicals out there. I am currently TESTing an area of White Thassos in a shower that has rust stains from iron rich well water. The product I am TESTing will not etch the surface, as most rust removers do. I'll let you know if it works.

Hi John,

Thumbs up on the Prosoco. I got some "Saltgaurd WB" a few years ago as a sealer for my concrete driveway. Works great. The driveway looks clean and uniform in color; you can't tell there is a sealer on the driveway because it's a penetrating type. Unlike the neighbor's that looks splotchy after they sealed it with a cheaper acrylic type. I suppose in a few years I'll need to seal it again, but the cement/tile supplier that I got it from has changed hands so much, they don't carry it anymore. I'll look 'em up when I need some.

Oops, sorry Randy, that was meant for JohnK ;)
I'll just blame it on an early onset of CRS caused by sniffing far too many cement products :D
