I just got an email from our long lost buddy CX, aka "Kelly". He says he is doing fine out in the middle of nowhere and asked me to pass on his greetings to the JB forum crew.
I'll send him an email in the next couple of days. If you have anything to include, let me know.
Tell him Hi, and why is he out in the boonies anyways?
If he has e-mail, than he has web access.
If he is in the Boonies, he has time on his hands.
If you have those 2 things.
It's "JOHN BRIDGE TIME"!!!!!
Tell him I said hello, and be carefull out there in the Boonies.

CX has had those spare computer batteries plugged into that pine tree for a week now and still they just won't charge.

Kelly has an ancient lap top and no place to plug it in. I think the modem works on about 2400 bps, and the batteries only last an hour or so. Before he left he said he'd be more or less out of touch.

Buds uncle is purveyor of the world famous "Clines Corners".
I hadn't heard of it till last week, when I was ranting about being stood up out in T of C, New Mexico by all you guys and gals.
Then Bud asks if we made to Clines corners.
Seeings how Bud won't answer your question.
Now what the heck is CX doing out on the range without a generator, or at least a power pole he can tap into?
Is he building one of those fancy homes for someone? If so, how can he run his power tools?
HEY!!!! Curious minds still want to know.

Good to see y'all still weird.
Got me hooked up to a real phone line, but I'm still not sure I can get on here on this computer - it ain't never been here afore and the site keeps axin' me who I am and what's my password. And I'm not sure about either.
Hate to tell you Chippy, but you're wrong again. It ain't lack of batteries or generator, we got plenty of both. And got some time too. It's phone service that's lacking. My only connection is through a cell phone at 4800bps. And yes, you can have email access without having real web access - I wasn't kidding about timing downloads with a calendar. And sometimes the site will just say it can't deal with someone going that slow. Whole new game.
And another correction: We ain't out in the middle of nowhere. We never get closer than the southwest corner. Middle would be uptown!
Gotta run afore they find out I done unplugged their phone line. (tehe tehe) Y'all be happy to know that you have at least 5 Spotted Owls that you never knew you had before. Ain't it great what your government does with your dinero?

That's where he made his mistake. Should have stayed out of Texas. Texas Rangers tracked his ass all the way to Reno and then turned him over to the FBI. ;)
