I am trying to restore a marble bathroom sink and need help removing stains and build-up near the drain. (See photo). I will replace the drain so ignore the gross looking one in the picture. My concern is about the build-up just in front of the drain. I believe it's caused by the hardwater we have in Houston. I have not tried any of the common cleaners such as Limeaway; I'm afraid they might harm the marble.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Joe, Welcome! :)
Is this a natural stone marble sink or a cultured marble (poured plastic)?
You could start with a high alkaline cleaner and a white nylon pad.

It's cultured marble. Can you give me a brand name over-the-counter high alkaline cleaner? Thanks.

Hi Joe :)
The manufacturer of cultured marble recommends using "Lime Away" for the removal of hard water spots. NO abrasives! A monthly application of "Gel Gloss" will help maintain the shine, and resist soap build up and future water spots.
