Charles has finally bitten the bullet, (hollow point, curare tipped) and like all good Englishmen, announced to the world at large that he refuses to let sleeping dogs lie and that he intends to marry his, despite her refusal to use him as a tampon.

This by the Daily Mirror's resident republican poet.
SWEEP your cupboards, move your jugs, make way for tea towels, spoons and mugs,
I've news to make you wet your bedding, it's time for the latest royal wedding
ANOTHER union of chinless wonders to rank with all the other blunders, so let the kingdom yell and roar, "hurrah for the whorer and his whore"
FOR 30 years our prince has wooed her (though told his wife he ne'er had screwed her) yet now our future king can say up yours, my bird's a legal lay
SHE'S got less chance of being called Queen than Joe Pasquale or Mr Bean, but how Camilla will beam with pride, at ceasing to be Chaz's bit on the side
SO page the barons, counts and earls, alert all parasites in pearls, bring dukes and viscounts from all fronts, and all the other Beaufort Hunts
TELL Anne to come with her gormless patsy, let Harry pose as an evil Nazi, alongside knights in shining armour, Geri Halliwell and the Dalai Lama
AND when the couple say "I do" watch Phil The Greek, with rage, turn blue, Her Maj will wipe away a tear, as no one in the land doth cheer
THEN it's off on a fairytale honeymoon, where they'll hunt and fish and romp 'til June, and all we ask is they relax, then both come back as a used Tampax.
:D
I would say that any relationship that has survived what this one has is probably pretty solid. Say what you will. He's been seeing her for- what was it?- thirty years now? At least we know it's not her youth and beauty that have him snagged. Perhaps it's love? Anyone consider that possibility?

Jack, for cri......, just take to the airwaves or whatever. Don't keep butting into regular conversations on the boards. :)
I think Charles and Her Ladyship will make a perfect royal couple. By the by, by the time Charles makes king, I don't think there will be all that much left of the monarchy. Its time has passed. Few in this country are enthralled, and certainly the folks in England have to be a bit dis-infatuated by now. What support remains has to be out in the hinterlands of the Commonwealth. Wait, what commonwealth? :)

John, there is increasingly little support for that complete mummy's boy git and his cadaver/fiancee out here in the colonies. Chuck is coming to Australia this month and wisely is not bringing the missus-to-be (is aware that he may arrive at airport under hail of bottles and bricks) Trip is being funded by Australian taxpayers: happy about that! Last time he was here someone tried to shoot him with a starters gun.
Oma, don't forget that during those 30 years that their "love" has survived, they were both married to other people. I just hope her kids don't get titles now: pair of horsefaced upstarts! It seems most people would be happy for Charles to be bypassed and go straight to William. Plus now that "our" Mary married Freddie of Denmark, I think most Aussies would be quite happy to be annexed and run from Copenhagen. At least they've got a bit of style, Queen Margrethe runs a pretty tight ship over there it seems.

Hold it, Paula. We are/were the Colonies. You are the Commonwealth. :D
What I'm thinking is that since Diana perished there is not much interest in the royals one way or the other. No mystique left. :)
I figured I'd get whammed at least a couple of times for suggesting that maybe there was actually a solid relationship involved here. Certainly you guys don't think he married Di for love. She was a pretty and sweet little airhead who had the right genes and the right background for breeding to bear the young princes. I was only suggesting that with all the water under the bridge, maybe there was a real relationship left since the two of them still seem to care about each other. Call me naive.

Yep Bill she's right you know, and there is no way that you could thinset the exhaust from a fat boy onto the outboard of that little skiff of yours and make it sound like a hog.
