I'm looking for a cleaning solution for cleaning the aluminum framing around shower doors and glass knee wall units. As a professionl handyman I've been repairing shower stalls which use these enclosures. The bottom 3-4 rows of tile become loose and have to be replaced. In making such repairs I often remove these shower dooor units, fix the wall tile, (bases are always fiberglass) clean the shower door unit and re-install. Tile work is easy since it's usually 4x4 contractor grade white ceramic. The aluminum frames are the hard part! used SOS pads in the past and green scuff pads have helped. I'm in central Ohio and we get hard water marks, and sometimes some calcium and lime buildup. Looking for something that will make the job go a little faster and easier.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have. :)

Hi Daryl, Welcome! :)
I suggest you request some samples of Stone Tech's KlenzAll, Restore, and All Purpose Cleaner.

Daryl-
Of the StoneTech products that John recommended, I might stay away from the Restore, but the KlenzAll and All Purpose Stone and Tile Cleaner will likely work.

Hi Claudia :)
You think the KlenzAll will be strong enough to remove calcium and lime deposits? I understand caution should be used with the Restore as it is acidic, but diluted, wouldn't it not have adverse effects on the aluminum or chrome plating. (Just asking.)

John-
On chrome plating you woule likely see a bigger problem than on aluminum, but the potential for pitting or other damage to the metal (or thier finishes) exists with Restore. With too light of a dilution (one that wouldn't harm the metal) I don't know how effective it would be. I would rather recommend the KlenzAll at about a 1:4 dilution and a white nylon brush or pad and elbow grease.

Thanks Claudia! :)
I haven't used Restore enough in that situation. We clean & reuse shower doors on occassion, but mostly replace them. Did get acid on some unprotected chrome once. Wasn't pretty. Thanks for the assist here!
