does anyone remember a show called "the prisoner"? this guy (who i'm thinking seemed like he had amnesia or woke up in another country or something along those lines) is always being chased by this big clear bubble. he'll be walking along & then the bubble will appear from around a corner. it doesn't go fast, just kind of bounces along. one scene has a park with a part of the lawn done like a chess board & people are the pieces.
i'm sure some of you remember night gallery w/rod serling.
anyway, i was wondering if anyone had any idea how i could find video tapes of these old shows?
my husband is wondering why i want to see these. my father, who was probably watching these w/me, is having selective memory.
thanks & everyone have a good weekend!

Wasn't "The Prisoner" was with Patrick Mc Gouen, the guy who was also "secret agent man"?. Not sure of the spelling.
Rod Serling hosted "The Twilight Zone." Did he do "Night Gallery," too?

When in doubt - check out IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase)
Here's the link for "The Prisoner" starring Patrick McGoohan:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061287/
There are links on the right side column to purchase the DVD/VHS from Amazon.
Hope this help :)

I liked "Garrison's Guerillas". and " Branded", with Chuck Connors. :)Rod Serling hosted Night Gallery, but didn't write the episodes, and i read he hated being just a figurehead on the show. :)

Thanks, guys!!
Shaugnn, you use that Netflix? How do you like it?
I went to IMDB site & read about both. I think "Night Gallery" is going to be scarier than i remember. Those older shows were always really scary 'cause they left so much to your own imagination! My boys were asking me about the show & I was telling them about the episode w/the big fish-like creature.
Didn't remember much, just that it scared the crap out of me, but now they want to see it. Will not make the mistake one poster did on the message board of showing it to kids & the kids not sleeping for a week!!
I've got to find "The Prisoner" DVD. I'm headed out now, maybe I can get it at Borders....
Thanks again!

Prisoner DVD:

You'd be better off to start with Secret Agent, than with The Prisoner...there were lot's of episodes of Secret Agent where he butted heads with his superiors...which explains why and how he ended up in The Village. Great show, but could get a little strange and hard to follow.

hi Mom,
I used to use Netflix but we watch recorded movies so rarely that it didn't make sence to keep it up. And then we got TIVO with DirectTV and we haven't rented a movie now in two years. :D But I loved it for convienience and it was really really inexpensive. I also liked that their movie selection is broad and unlike Blockbuster or Hollywood Video they don't edit content to suit their own sensibilities. I highly recommend Netflx.
