LOL....you guys trying to butter me up or something?

The new keyboard is nice...too bad half the time Control,Alt,Delete does not even work.....ever notice it take at least three tries to shut something down with CAD..And other times it just freezes...why is it that you can have all the money in the world and cannot make a SOLID operating system. Yet some two bit Linux programmers have about 20 differant variations that are all rock solid that they made on shoestring budgets?

Instead of building onto there original buggy operating systems adding more breakable software to the equation and making knock-offs why don't they just start all over..they never solved the the bugs in 95.
Windows users are so used to crashes that they don't realize other operating systems don't get them like that.

Windows is based thru ms-dos and is still refrained by existing limitations of 1980 technology(backwards capatabilty). Why not start all over ?why do we still have to trick dos in to accepting 8.3 file names...why not remake a new dos that reconizes them..why do we have to live with Dos induced effects to windows? I just can't understand this.

It has to be money. Plus so much other software is built to interact with it they can't change, which is the same thing, money.

Does that sound right?

Yup I am sure it has to do with it somehow. If there is no programs to work with an operating system it would not even sell 10 copies. Look how long it took linux to have enough programs to be attractive to buyers. Heck I hardly use it for that reason. They still have a ways to go before more games and high end software is ported for linux...but they are getting there ..thats for sure.

Buckley,

I see what you mean about that hidden settings window. I tried to cancel it and it wouldn't cancel. None of the buttons work. Geez. :(

John, just right click to close it, then pound 5 times with your fist on the keyboard and repeat "Get thee gone Gates" This exorcism should drive the demon/Pooka back into your modem all the way to Seattle. :D

I think Gates sent him/it to me as revenge for this thread.http://www.clicksmilies.com/sammlung/teufel/teufel006.gif

Every time I think of Billy, I think of Digital Research.

And then I remember the movie "Ghost" and how an apparent friend can turn out to be such a snake-bellied lyin' cheatin'.... and here he is on the witness stand at the supreme court. Wish I was there.
