You use Internet Explorer, Bud. So do I.

I've got DSL, though, and your page loaded in about two secs, JC. But hey, there's no big picture on it or anything. Saw some buttons. ;)

Never have figured out why business people wanna go with all that flash stuff.

Yea thats why I wanted to see how it affected speed..I don't mind flash as long as nothing slows down or I loss functionality.

I don't know what happened I started messing around with trying to make buttons "click" then ended up learning flash design and making the logo...pretty fun after you get the hang of it I must say. No wonder it is so popular it really allows you imagination to get execized...even if it does suck for surfing sometimes I agree 100%.

I wanted to have a tile saw cutting a piece of tile and every time the cut-off tile would fall it would morph into a menu button below untill the entire menu would be there...but that was turning into a big deal so I dropped it.

So should I get rid of it or do you think it gives a more professional looking site?? yay or nay

p.s. I am going to have a picture of the store in the empty spot..took pictures the other day ..just need to get them off my partner.. will be posting soon.

Thank you Cami, you know I think you would really enjoy doing flash yourself..try it, it is a free download..Flash 5. You will have to read a few tutorials but it is worth it.

You know, JC, I was already thinking that maybe I could do that for next year's website...:D

Any links you found particularly helpful?

JC

Yea Flashkit.com is the shiznet. They pretty much have everything.

There are also alot of tutorials around easy to find with a search engine.

Also another program that works nice with flash is Macromedia's Dreamweaver 4.

check out the new product lines..still have to do the Tile ones but that Ifloor site was a BIG help. If I can't get it cheaper(some of there stuff is cheap others are not so cheap) I can just buy through them and get free shipping to a place about 15 miles away..not bad huh?

An easy online showroom thats for sure.

Just peeked again, it's coming along nicely but as a prospective customer I can't say I would get excited about your building. You were doing better before.

I know, I know, coming from me with my boring dull nothing site BUT I'm trying for Archs, GCs, and Floor Contractors who just want the facts.

The page that pops up when you click on the site, I forget what you call it, but just like a magazine cover it should make you want to open it.

Hey JC, your a puter wiz, can you take your photo and doctor it a little?

Remove the tree, the pole and the FedEx box.

Cami A
04-23-2002, 05:23 PM
Or a shot of you & partner in front of a nice tile display.

JC
04-23-2002, 06:35 PM
Jim do you mean the home page with the Flash intro? Or the the pop-ups that happen when you goto the "free" forum?

I see what I can do about the tree,pole,fed-ex box, Bud.Maybe I could just post a picture of someone elses store front...that would be easier..hehe

The home page, what happened to all the imaginative stuff you and Cami were doing?

Cami A

Pay attention, Jim- that was at least one name change ago! :D

I like the Flash best of all.

Take out the overhead wires in the pic on your home page while you're "retouching" that photo, JC. :D

Well I really did'nt want a separate page for a flash intro coz those always irritate me,. I would like to find a way to have the flash intro only play the first time you visit and not everytime you go back to the home page..don't think I can do it without using cookies though.

I'll get around to the pics ..but I am pretty tired tonight.

Now I know what you mean about Flash, the last time I checked into the site it didn't. That I like. But do work on the picture. :)
