I think Kelly is leaving us in the morning. He'll be out west in the wild and woolly playing with fuzzies. Hasta la vista, buddy.

Awwww, y'all sweet.

But I ain't likely to get outa here until sometime Tuesday. Tooooo many things to fix and get ready on the ol' mobile Motel 3 and the truck and the camping gear and this damn computer and whatnot. But looks like ain't nobody out there ready yet either, so I ain't even gonna be late. :)

I'll send an email when I'm on the road to test the ol' cell phone/laptop connection.

Bud:

It's not too late! Get yourself a reservation at the motel in Queen, New Mexico. That's the area we'll start this season. Just down the street from Carlsbad. Well, about 62 miles down the street. Measured from the Wal-Mart. And "Motel" might be a bit of an exaggeration. But they do have a restaurant and a gas pump and a few RV sites. And the fire station is right next door. And that's the only two doors there. :D Great spot for some peace and quiet.

Instead of that malfunctioning puter why don't you just bring some old fashioned carrier pigeons?

Get that damn thing working we're gonna be lost here, suppose somebody wants to hang a picture or worse yet mount a bird feeder?

Hey wait a minute! You didn't mention the hot tub, sauna or jacuzzi where the hell are they? How do you expect me to rough-it without a five-star restaurant to kick-back in afterwards, daily?

How many TV channels do they get in that town anyway? And is it cable or satellite TV? Do they automatically add the tip on room service orders? I hate when they do that!

I got a lot of questions that needs answers 'fore I'll be goin'.

It's just not going to be the same.... :(

We will expect pictures on your return, of course. No pics of owl reproductive activities necessary, though...

Received from CX on his way out the door:

I submit the attached to help establish my bony-fidies for admission to the Sacred and Loyal Order of the Hawk and Trowel. :-)

I know it ain't wall mud, but there was about 600 square feet of the stuff. Make your arm tard.

All:

For the next three months I will be working in the wilds of New Mexico and will have only a cell phone/laptop connection for email service. The connection speed of that rig is only 4800bps and it costs 35 cents a minute much of the time.

I still try to check email regularly and welcome your communications, but please take me off the joke lists and limit other email to text only; photos and other large files require download times that are best measured with a calendar and financed through large lending institutions.

I should be back to the real computer and phone lines in July.

Hey Kelly, I see your still here, if you have time what's the purpose of this safari, seems to me it's more than fun and games. Ecology, conservation? If not now when you come back. Bon Voyage! (That's Polish, John told me to knock off the Frog stuff).

Geez Bud, send it to me I'll make sure it's put to good use. :)

Hell, I'm still not gone, but I will be before midnight. :)

Environmental studies, flatfloor. Not as much fun as it used to be when there was more time off for fly fishing, but c'esty la vive, eh? (That's Slovenian). Hell, there hasn't been enough water to fish the last few years anyway. Lots of work these days, but the pay is better, too. :D

Back to work. Gotta make some chains to fit these new tires, doncha know.

Gonna miss this place. Startin' to go into withdrawal already.
