John,i challenge you to a rousing paragraph about how much we love and admire the opposing team here in the mudbox,100 words, if our respective team loses! Go Cards/Go Cards/ Go Cards---Redbirds rule! :D

Yeah, it's hard for the 'Stros to compete with a team of that caliber when they keep running Triple A pitchers out there. I was wondering if I was the only one watching.
Like I said...5-4
No, 6-4

To tell you the truth, I'm accustomed to defeat. I'm not a defeatist; that's just how it is. The Stros remind me a lot of the old Houston Oilers. They've been at it a long time and have never made it to the World Serious. Came close once years ago, but let the stinkin' Mets beat them out. ;)

Yeah, what a series that was. How disappointing.Very dramatic, though. What about the Phillies series in 80? Thought they had that one, too.

Why is it called the "world series" if only American Teams (and a couple from Canada) compete?

Westie,
You know how obnoxious Americans are. At the time the series was inaugurated, we didn't even let Canadians in. We just figured this was our little world down here. ;)
Plain answer: I don't know. :D

Thats what I though John but us Canadians are too polite to say that about those down south. With oil above $54 a barrel we have to be nice to you, we don't want Bush claiming we have WMD and have him try to come up here to liberate us from Ralph Klein. :stick:

Come to think of it, we haven't tried to liberate Canada in over a century now. Maybe it's time. ;)
Question: If we do liberate you do we have to take the Northwest Territory and all the rest of the Arctic? :D

John : don't you remember what happened last time you tried that? We would hate to have to burn down the White house again. You can have Quebec though.
