Woohoo, the hospital I work in has been on Green Alert today....anticipating that Mt. St. Helens is gonna blow again soon.
Well, okay, it won't be as impressive as the last time, but kind of exciting nonetheless.

Nope, no joke.

Our director came in today to tell us how the hospital would proceed in the event of some action. Sounds worse than actually is...only danger is to people with respiratory problems...so we are being told. And radius of impact would only be about 5 miles. Most of that area is forest anyway and roads have been blocked off to any visitors.

This ain't no joke...splashed all over the local papers and TV this week. Testing evacuation sirens in the area now and past several days. Earthquake intensity and frequency indicates that ol' mountain gonna blow it's lava dome.
Been nice knowing y'all. I hereby bequeath to flatfloor my proto-type TYW tee-shirt. CX, you get my box of sheetrock screws and John gets my prized six-pack of Billy Beer. :yeah:

Thanx Mike, please mail it asap. :D
I know it's no joke, I just hope the geologist's predictions are correct. That it will be minor that is.

Lets see,
Asteroid comes closest to earth ever, abundance of hurricanes, earthquake in California and now MT St Helens ready to blow its top again. Are these some sort of biblical signs?
Well, thanks, Mike, but what size are they? I got plenty of most sizes right now, but I may be a little short on some. Nice of you to think of us in your time of stress and all, but could you git me an inventory? :D
Clearly biblical signs, JohnK. Hell, you ever seen anything happen or not happen that Christians couldn't find clear, absolute, unmistakable reference to in that book? Better than the TCA Handbook for covering all possible procedures. :)

Nostradamus in the 101st quatrain predicted that a man from the N'east of the country of the great eagle would emerge wearing the robes of a blood red family at the same time the lady mountain of the N'west would blow her top.
Could this be Kerry in the Heinz ketchup colors and Mt St Helena? :D

Well, she blew her stack around noon today!
Here's a link to the news story. Check out the video link too.
It's a warm and clear day here and one can hardly see any evidence...just a little haze over the mountain.

As of yesterday -
Reuters: “Mount St. Helens spews steam and ash high into the skies above Washington state October 1, 2004 as it awakes from years of slumber. Scientists tracking renewed earthquake activity at Mount St. Helens raised their warning level on Saturday to a Level 3-Volcano Alert, signaling a second eruption may be brewing. A Level 3 warning means that there is a potential hazard to life and property in the area.”

Yep, they were clearing people out and away from the observation site this afternoon. They're saying another explosion should happen in the next couple of days.
