using 4x4 travertine as a countertop.

Can i use as small 4x4 travertine tile as a tile for my kitchen countertop? I am exploring filling the tiles with clear resin first, then sanding them with 400 to 600 paper. What does anyone have to say about this?

Why do you want to do that?

I'd just buy a 4x4 tumbled lookalike made from porcelain if I were going to do that.

The travertine will look artificial once you apply the resin.
