I'm in deserate need of help here. We purchased our home 2 months ago and have a large amount of ceramic tile. I scrubbed and scrubbed and our feet would still be black after walking on it. A friend suggested that I use a cleaner with wax in it to "seal" the floor so that wouldn't happen. Well it worked. But I went to scrub it again today and spent almost 4 hours scrubbing all the layers of wax off. WHAT should I be using to clean all this tile? Thanks in advance, Jaime

Hi Jaime,
Is the grout black?
Tell us more about the tile, is it textured?
Thanks,
We'll help. :)

The tile is terracotta colored and does have a slight texture to it. The grout when we bought the house was black but after all the scrubbing yesterday it's greyish now. How do I know if it's been sealed or not? Our home was a model for the development we live in so I have no clue.
I did more research last night and found that Spic-n-Span or Mr. Clean would work which is what I used last night, but it just doesn't look right now that it's done. Any advice you have would be helpful as I've never taken care of tile before!
Thank you, Jaime

Hi Jaime,
OK Two suggestions.
1) The cleaner you used last night left a residue. It needs to washed and scrubbed with clean water.
2) Once that is done I suggest you get some Aquamix grout colorant and "paint" your grout joint with it.
It is tedious but when you are done you will have clean socks again.
