Is there any way I can get these my Travertine tiles even (see pic)? We laid out Travertine a while back and tried to get them as level as possible, but if you slide your foot across some of the tiles you can feel the lip. I actually can see it and it bugs me a bit. I don't want to tear them up of course, so what are my options? Also can you buff the tile to a shine with a buffer? The tile I bought was honed and polished, but some of them don't have a great shine to them.

Dear Jim:
Nice Durango - not so nice install! :(
Your only option is to hire a professional stone refinisher who will have to grind your floor flat. Once ground, it will have to be re-filled, too. In fact lots of the filler will come out from the grinding. After that, you will be able to ask for any sort of finish: from totally flat, to highly polished, and anything in between. Figure 8 to 10 bucks per square foot. :)
About your other question, the answer is no. Only a professional could do that, and in consideration of the lips you have it wold be a very difficult job (and with poor results) without grinding the floor.
Ciao and good luck,

8-10/sqft. I could have the tile replaced and laid for that.
I guess I will have to live with it, maybe in a few years it will wear down.

Thanks

Jim
