View Full Version : Baseboard Install over tile ...

Hi all!

A couple quick questions on baseboard installation over ceramic tile:

1 - will I need to rip my baseboards so the height matches the baseboards on adjoining carpeted areas?

2 - do people usually caulk along bottom of baseboards to keep crud from accumulating in the crack (or outta sight, outta mind?)?

3 - suppose I'll need to locate/mark studs?

Thanks in advance,

1) No, you can leave the baseboards where they are and plan for a gap between the tile and the baseboards, which you cleverly fill with caulk.

2) Crud sounds so, well, cruddy, don't it? Caulk and forget it.

3) Locate and mark studs? What, like catch and release? :D
