Porcelain Tile grout joint direction ???

I am about to have about 500 sq. feet of 16X16 porcelain installed ......and part of the room is a landing and steps...my question is....Should I have the tiles on the diamond or straight pattern...I will have a one tile width of a glass tile installed as a borden on the top of the landing of the steps, just inside of the grout line of the bullnose on the landing...this area is about 7 ft.x 4 ft...and a 4 piece center motif ..in the center of the landing...Thanks for your help !!! Thanks for the reply....now....about the joints on the steps and floor...do the joints on the steps have to line up with the joints on the floor..or would that make it look too striped....there will be bullnose around the landing edges and the step, so I guess it wouldn't matter...and if I do the diamond pattern on the floor, would the steps look better to do on a straight pattern...seems like diamond on the steps would be way too much cutting and smaller pieces and might look better to do straight. Are these questions ok...or too confusing..?

It's really personal preferance. I always like the look of a floor on a diagonal. More work though.

Hey, thanks...I did post a reply but did it wrong...I must have did it after mine...anyway...I think I have decided to do the floor diamond pattern and the landing and steps straight...and I have a pretty 4 piece motif for the middle in a diamond...and glass tiles to do a border...hope I will like it...
