Oh, but I liked your mean side;)
Never ate rabbit meat:eek:
Now tell me why we have rabbits bringing eggs??? I never did understand that concept. Do you all know that in Germany and many parts of Europe they don't say it's the bunny but a chicken? That makes sense!!
But hey, this is America:D

The Europeans just never seem to get it, do they? How the hell could a chicken ever be an Easter Bunny?

CX you're just antagonistic...no, er... agnostic. That's it! ;)
Eli do a web search for "easter history". I'm all for commemorating the death of Jesus like he commanded us, but I think he would be downright mad at anyone who celebrates it like most do. When you find out that the word Easter comes from the name of a pagan god, and eggs & rabbits were part of spring fertility rites of worship to her (look in any encyclopedia)... well you have to ask yourself if you're gonna make rationalizations to convince yourself it's ok to keep doing it the same way (like "it's the thought that counts"), or are you gonna find out what Christ really wants from you?
I do wish you all my best regards in this very important season. :)
Yep, Tom, I'm both of the above. :D
This Easter is kinda like Christmas, seems to me. Y'all Christians find you a good pagan celebration been goin' on for centuries untold, claim it for your own, give it a new name and swear it's always been thus. Ain't fair. Ain't right. :(
Time for a good ol' Pagan uprising!
Take back the hollidays!
And let's git rid of this silly daylight savings time while we're fixin' calendar-type injustices. :)

I'm with Tom and Kelley.
Enough with candies and nonsense.
Lets find a religious zealot to crucify and celebrate this thing properly.

Shouldn't be hard to find in Iraq, wonder how many of those martyr wannabees would volunteer to be crucified?

Hey, that's a great idea!!! Down with the Easter eggs and up with one of those guys who just enjoy dying for their cause:D
We're being mean... I feel so guilty.... I'm Catholic you know:p Now I have to go to confession.... the Devil made me do it Father!!!
Gee guys, I still hope you enjoy the weekend;)

Actually, my thoughts are running toward that mother in Texas who killed her kids... unlike the man in Rwanda who said the devil made him do it, this one said it was God.
Anyone care to explain why an African would blame the devil, but an American would say God told him/her to kill someone?
That's a culturally puzzling thought... enlighten me master:)
How about John Ashcroft, or even W?

Simple,
The American feels secure enough to believe that the supreme being speaks directly to her, whereas the African being naturally more humble :suspect: requires to speak only to one of His underlings and isn't too fussed which one :D

Hey wait a minute guys. No goin' too far. :D I think it's important that we do honor the season with a respectful memorial of Christ's death in just the way he told us to. It's just that I have a problem with the bunnies, eggs, & that pagan god Eastre.
Eli when you go into that confession ask your priest what the Bible says about sharing customs & practices with pagan gods. Don't let him start with "I think..." and try to ease your conscience; make him tell you exactly what the Bible says about it. There should be no question, no possible room for interpretation once you read it yourself. :)

happy easter,
i agree with tom. we shood get rid of all the commercial and pagan aspects of easter. they almost killed me when i was a kid. one easter when i was six years old my older bruthah made me have a contest to see hoo cood eat the most peeps. we hated them things but our parents bought them every years. i somehow stuffed 24 of them into my mouth befour i started chokin. my daddy got hold of me an slapped me on the back reel good till i coffed up them peeps. i hurled a big sticky gooey blob of them peeps right on my mommas new easter dress. ebryone was yellin an screamin and my big bruthah gotta big wippin.
my parents neber bought no more peeps after that.
happy easter.

Albert, that was hilarious!!! Ihate peeps! But I love chocolates, and I'm such an addict, that I gave them up for Lent. When I saw what the bunny left me this morning (ummm... I had to help the bunny acquire the right type of chocolates for me)... Lindt milk chocolate, Cadbury mini eggs, and the other type with all the gooey stuff in them:D The only American chocolate I can handle is Milky Way (sorry guys, but your chocolates just don't have that flavour I covet so much)... think Swiss!! Yummmy!
Except that now I feel kind of sick...not to mention that I'm worry about the inches I'll be gaining around the waistline:rolleyes: :bang:

Albert,
You're a Cadbury fan as well? Gin and coconut water? Generally speaking I don't drink alcohol, but at Christmas time it's traditional to have a little gin and coconut water in my family... alas in this blessed place I live (Okieville) I have to substitute ginger ale or club soda for the coconut water... just isn't the same, so I quit drinking that stuff. You've got excellent taste Albert!:D
You've got excellent taste Albert! C'mon, Eli, don't encourage him, this is the guy who makes coon gravy and sucks it out of a grout sponge, remember?
