indoor brick paver floors

Can anyone tell me what to do if my kitchen and dining rooms floors start getting discolored and the glaze is coming off of the bricks? The heavy traffic areas look horrible but no one I know have seen floors like mine...orange,brown,lt brown, reddish bricks. Thanks if you can help. :bang:

Is there any way to post a picture? I'm not familiar with glazed brick. What is the name of them? (manufacturer) How long has the floor been installed? Is it possible that these are finished with something, and the finish is wearing in the high traffic areas?

Just looking for answers. ;)

Hi, sounds like my floor. I have just stripped mine; I was told that bricks are sealed with varnish, so I used a Savogran Paint/Varnish stripper. It did dull the finish, but left some behine, so we rented a belt sander over the weekend and sanded (still have dust everywhere), and there are still places that are not clean. And of course no sander that I know of can reach under the cabinet overhang. I reapplied the stripper today and it may have helped a little. :bang:

I have never liked the floor ... I'm trying to find out how to do a whitewash, hoping to lighten and maybe get a more uniform look.

Hi, I should have mentioned there are pics of my floor in the thread two lines below your question. Is this what your floor looks like? It is actually more the pinkish color than the yellowish look in the closeup. Time is going to tell me how to whitewash, right, Tim?
