Being completely unacquainted with his work, I just made the mistake of purchasing and reading Karl Shaw's Royal Babylon,a skip along the surface of the last 300 years of the seediest side of European Royalty.

I can now confirm William Jefferson Clinton is a complete amateur!

I cannot recommend this work for anything more than Commode reading as it is facile beyond belief, and its touted hilarity did not appear. Shaw avers any number of things about various royals without indicating the provenance of his sources within the text.

The saving grace is extensive the bibliography at the end of the work.

Don't bother to buy this book but do go to the library and copy the bibliography. There appears to be some interesting reading referenced.

Of course I realize there are various degrees of professionalism................your candidates may have been more so.;)

I suppose the obvious, perhaps the only conclusion is that those we elect into the highest offices our nations have to offer have learned nothing from those who went before them.

The Parachute Regiment Training Mantra has been applied willy nilly (no pun intended):

"When in doubt, whip it out".

They of course refer to your emergency chute.

Politicos invariarably think on a more base level :D
