Well, sealing grout all evening until now...4:45 am wasn't exactly what I had in mind for Valentine's. I have residue dried to my fingers I'm trying ot get off.
Can't believe how much I used...I only have enough to do the rest of the master floor and shower...which I didn't get too because after all this I needed a shower myself! Not enough to do the kitchen though.
OK here are my few concerns. I have some residue film left on some white tiles. Will that just come off with time?
The other thing...well, I sure hope someone tells me I didn't waste the prodcut and my whole evening with this...I *thought* that you put down the sealer and then clean it off the tiles with a wet sponge or mop...please say right...because I did and all the grout got wet after sealing it in the process. I didn't even think to try to get the residue off with a damp or dry rag...I pretty much wet mopped it all after taking a wet sponge to it. And, I still have residue. So was it ok to get it wet? If so...then why does one have to wait to shower after sealing?
OK...going to bed already!
Thanks,
Deb:o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I'm hopeing to seal thr grout my shower and the rest of my master bathroom floor...so can anyone let me know if washing the residue off with water and mopping or showering afterwards is OK to do?
Thanks!
Deb

Hi Deb :)

How wet of a mopping did you give it? Damp mop…or flooded the floor?

You need to use a dry terry towel, white in color, to buff (remove) the excess. By using a wet mop, or towel, you are just diluting the seal down. You are not removing all the excess.

Wet the hazy areas down with water and rub with a scrub pad. A green pad would be best. Hurry and get it wet…like NOW. We will worry about any negative effect this process has on the seal afterwards. You need to get that haze off. ;)

OK...2 am that was a fun filled evening...not. Hubby says to forget sealing "didn't seal in the last house and the grout looked fine for ten years" Have to admit he was right. I'm the one that insisted on sealing. But anyway, I cleaned the friggin haze off all night. There is still a little left but I think that haze was there before...when we moved in. Could it be grout haze? If so will it eventually come off? It would budge tonight with the ammonia/tile cleaner solution.
Thanks for the call Tim...I really appreciate it!
Now to get the sealer of my shiny hands!
