A couple of questions...

If I left a little stain residue along the grout lines in a couple of places on my porcelain tile, is there something I can do to get it off without damaging the stain on the grout?

Also, what is the best way to stain a grout line that adjoins a painted sheetrock wall? Do I just use blue tape on the wall?

Hi Derek :)

How much excess are we talking? Thick? Right on the edge of the joint?

Do you think you can get at it with a razor?

If not, you can use a solution of 1 part ammonia to 10 parts water (or so…no science here). Let it dwell a few minutes, then use a green scrub pad and try to cut it in. Any softening of the stain will cure out, and re-harden, upon evaporation of the ammonia solution.

Yep, blue tape. I don’t use it myself, but I recommend it. After so many years of cutting in baseboard, carpet and such, you get good at sponge control and real fast with a clean, wet terry towel. :D
