Re: Kerdi walls using acrylic receptor

We are going to tile a shower area using ceramic tiles on the walls and a Kohler Acrylic receptor for the base. The walls will be durock or hardibacker. I would like to use Kerdi on the walls but I can’t find anything in their data that tells me how to handle installing Kerdi at the bottom of the cement board where it sits inside the lip of the receptor. In other words, if I stop the Kerdi flush with the bottom of the cement board where it sits inside the lip of the receptor, the bottom edge will be exposed and susceptible to wicking. Can I wrap the Kerdi around the bottom edge of the cement board and use kerdi fix to adhere it to the backside of the board – say up 6” on the backside?

Thanks

Found the answer on my own.

FYI: See Schluter's Shower Installation Handbook for 2010
Page 17 addresses the junction of the wallboard at the flange.
This applies to bathtubs and shower pans.
