I need to remove pencil marks off of honed travertine. It's been grouted but not yet sealed. I tried using the eraser with some success, but it takes a long time. Is there an easier way?

On honed travertine I use a honing powder with a white or hog hair pad.

Sean,
If you don't have acess to honing powder and a hog hair pad. I've had really good luck removing pencil and haze marks on travertive using 00 steal wool(extra fine). Make sure to vacume well after polishing with steal wool as the fibers will rust if they get wet and stain the tile.
also, don't be tempted by the abrasive pads that claim to be 00 steal wool, they'll scratch your tile. You'll want just the plain old steal wool like your grandma used.

Better yet, instead of steel wool use bronze wool found at any marine store.

Buy the big white or gray erasers not the pink ones.. Michael

Has anyone out there tried one of these tile and grout erasers?

I haven't, Mike. I have always used Mike M's recommendation. :)
