Enhancing Porcelain Tile?

We have a new porcelain, unglazed tile floor. It is beautiful when wet - the crevices are defined, and you can really see the contrast. When dry, it is very flat looking. The grout is also the color we were expecting - but only when wet. I was wondering if there was a product which gives a wet look to porcelain? I am finding it for slate, stone, etc., but wasn't sure if it would make a difference? We haven't sealed the floor yet. Thanks for all your help - the contractor basically said that there was nothing to put on a porcelain tile to enhance it.

The contractor is essentially correct, unless your porcelain is more absorbant than most. I'll move this over to our tile care forum which is hosted by our chemist/restoration specialist, Tim Thomas. :)

Does your tile darken immediately when hit with water? How much darker? How long does it take for the tile to dry (lighten) back to original?

I’ve enhanced unglazed, through-body (same color from top to bottom) tile using a solvent-based enhancer. The only trick involved is you have to apply very light applications. One will do it, but two THIN applications is best. You do not want any enhancer drying on the surface. ;)
