Jungle, December, 2000                  Jungle Main Page            John Bridge Home

Not really much new.   I'm always afraid to add new things this time of year on the off chance there could be a serious frost.  It's just that the jungle has taken on a certain different look.  We have been spared any cold weather so far, and at 70 f. today, it seemed more like spring than winter.

I know, a simple begonia, but outdoors in December? This little pepper normally grows in USDA Zone 10 (tropical), but  I grew this one from seed here in Zone 8b (Houston, TX)  It's called "Holiday Cheer."
Yes, only impatiens and a small fern. Norfolk Island Pine and Mexican Fan Palm (Washingtonia robusta)  Ficus benjamina in background.

May you enjoy all the best during this holiday season, and please return in the spring/summer, when the jungle will evolve into something else again.
